Heene family releases video of infamous balloon lifting off

The family of 6 year-old Falcon Heene has released home video of the balloon launch that kicked off an hours long search for the boy on Thursday. The video shows father Richard Heene, wife Mayumi and one of the three Heene sons working on the balloon in their back yard.

As the balloon lifts off Richard Heene realizes it isn't tethered and becomes visibly angry. The Heenes later said that one of their sons quickly told them that Falcon was inside the craft, but instead, he was hiding in an attic above the family's garage.

There have been allegations that the entire episode was a hoax, based partly on comments made by the 6 year-old during an interview after he was found.

Colorado authorities, however, say they have no reason to believe the Heene family didn't believe Falcon was on board the balloon. They say no charges will be filed and the family won't be billed for the search.
