A mix of rain and snow making its way through northern California. Heavy snowfall on Interstate 80 between Sacramento and Reno made plows and snow tires a necessity Wednesday morning.
With as much as seven to nine inches of accumulation in some places, emergency crews were out to keep an eye on motorists.
While the snow is a pain for drivers, it's good news for the drought-plagued state. The snow pack should prove valuable when it makes its way to the water table.
