A powerful storm will bring up to 14" of wind driven snow to the mountains between now and Sunday morning. Snow and wind gusting up to 50 mph will create very dangerous driving conditions over the high mountain passes. Wind will be the main element for the lower elevations. Gusts out of the southwest tomorrow from 40 to 45 mph, gusts up to 70 mph possible over the southern mountains and foothills from Walsenburg south to Trinidad. Mild temperatures Saturday will give way to highs almost 10 degrees cooler Sunday. Next week looks mild with high temperatures in the 50's and 60's.
