A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for El Paso and Teller counties from Noon Monday until 3 AM Tuesday.
Another round of heavy rain is in the works for Monday afternoon and evening. The first half of the day will bring a mix of sun and clouds. Clouds will thicken up over the mountains going into the noon hour, and showers will begin developing throughout the early afternoon in the mountains. By late afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will move out of the mountains to the east and toward I-25. Heavy rain with those thunderstorms will bring the risk for flash flooding, especially if that heavy rain falls on the burn scars or other areas prone to flash flooding. Rain will fade away by late evening. Clouds will linger overnight.
Temperature-wise, highs will be in the upper 70's and lower 80's around Colorado Springs, while areas along the Arkansas River, including Pueblo, will see highs in the upper 80's. South of the Arkansas, highs will be in the lower-to-middle 80's. Temperatures will be cooler near rain.
