Heat wave continues

The record setting heat wave shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Winds during the first half of the day will remain on the light side, but a few dry thunderstorms will pop up in the afternoon. The main concern from today's storms would be for the threat of gusty winds and dry lightning. Very little in day to day change is expected for southern Colorado as the heat wave continues.

Friday forecast:

Colorado Springs: 20% chance for an afternoon storm, light winds with the exception of a nearby storm, high 95

Pueblo: Partly cloudy, 10% chance for a storm, high 102

Monument: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for an afternoon storm.

Teller County: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for storms, light winds but gusty in the later afternoon, high 83
