Friday marked the 15th Annual Southern Colorado Economic Forum. It was held at the Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs.
The forum brings together economists, business owners, and experts from public, private and academic sectors.
Experts and business owners talk about the overall health of the local economy.
One area of growth cited in their analysis - telecommunications.
"We just need to get more of them telecommunication companies into town," says economist Fred Crowley from UCCS, "'Cause literally, for every job that they create, there are four more in the community created as a result of that job," he adds.
Crowley also told News 5 there is a project in the works called the Vineyard Project. They hope within five to ten years it will anywhere from 240 to 300 telecommunication workers to the Springs.
