The first of several health fairs around the state kicked off today. Hundreds of people came to the one in Pueblo Saturday, which is part of the Southern Colorado Health Fairs.
CSU-Pueblo's nursing program helped run the one on Saturday at Praise Assembly of God.
There are several things people showed up for. One is the education piece; medical professionals are on stand-by ready to answer the full gauntlet of questions. Also big are the screenings. There are more than 30 different medical tests that experts can run on the spot; letting people know what's going on in their bodies, but also helping them save some cash.
There are several more health fairs coming up across southern Colorado, running through May.
