Fire crews from all over El Paso County fought a fire at 3650 Bradley Road near South Academy Blvd. The fire smoldered through the night and well into Saturday as crews stood by for a possible reflash.
The fire sparked at a waste transfer station and caused structural damage to the building sending smoke throughout the area and could be detected throughout downtown. The contents of the building were quickly destroyed. The fire started around 4 p.m. Friday.
Fire crews from 6 different agencies fought the fire for several hours then stood-by overnight as a precaution.
