Halloween at the White House

President Barack Obama and his family are set to celebrate their first Halloween in the White House. They may not exactly get to ring the front door bell and shout trick-or-treat, but area school kids will be able to party on the front lawn at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. That's because the First Couple and their two adolescent daughters are hosting a Halloween reception complete with ghoulish decorations and plenty of scary candy.

Some 2,000 kids and their families are coming -- from five Washington-area elementary schools and the military. Reporters have been told the entire staff's been pitching in with preparations, but what if any costumes the president and his family might wear is so far a closely guarded secret.
