Amnesty International believes that Haiti violated international human rights obligations by failing to protect people forced to leave the impromptu settlements that sprang up after the 2010 earthquake.
A report by the human rights organization said it found that thousands of displaced people have been evicted from public space and private properties.
It alleges that the government condoned evictions led by mayors, police officers and others.
The post quake encampments became a symbol of the widespread devastation in Haiti after the earthquake in January of 2010.
