Haggard's wife speaks about infidelity

Gayle Haggard is now explaining why she stayed with her husband, nationally known Pastor Ted Haggard after his shocking admission that he had a sexual relationship with a male prostitute.
Haggard left the giant New Life Church in Colorado Springs in disgrace three years ago. Now Gayle Haggard has written a book called Why I Stayed. She appeared on the Today Show Wednesday morning, saying her relationship with her husband is now stronger than ever. "I knew I was going to have to make the choice early on as to what I was going to do. I chose early on that I really do love this man and I'm willing to fight with him for our marriage and family and for everything that I cared about."
She said her husband's pull toward homosexuality was the result of some things that happened to him when he was young, with certain messages playing over and over in his mind. She said after counseling, Haggard doesn't have those urges anymore.
Haggard started what became New Life Church at his home in Colorado Springs. He has now started another church at his home.
