H1N1 Swine flu vaccine clinic held Tuesday

Hundreds of people showed up for an H1N1 swine flu vaccine clinic in Canon City Tuesday. The line began forming an hour and a half before the doors opened at 2 pm. Some 150 people were in line before the doors opened.

This is the second free vaccine clinic held in Fremont County. The Health Department plans to hold them every Tuesday, as long as the vaccine is available. You must prove that you're a Fremont County resident to receive a shot.

Canon City was hit hard by swine flu immediately after the start of the school year, with hundreds of students sick.

Tuesday's clinic targeted:

* Health care workers
* First responders Police, firefighters, ambulance)
* Caregivers of children under 6 months old
* All children 6 months-4 years
* Children 5-18 with chronic illnesses

Pueblo County is planning a swine flu vaccine clinic on Saturday. El Paso County has cancelled all public clinics until mid-November.
