ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Colorado Rockies are giving Jeremy Guthrie another shot in the rotation.

The left-hander, demoted to the bullpen in mid-June, will start Wednesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals. Guthrie, 3-7 with a 6.56 ERA, allowed three runs in two innings in the last of four relief appearances on Saturday against the Padres.

Lefties Christian Friedrich (4-5, 5.52) and Drew Pomeranz (0-3, 3.72) will each get an extra day of rest, and will start Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Center fielder Dexter Fowler got a day off while dealing with a sore left side. Eric Young started in place of Fowler and led off.
