Jomar Falu-Vives was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder Wednesday in the shocking deaths of two young people gunned down while posting garage sale signs in Colorado Springs.

Jurors returned the verdicts late Wednesday afternoon.

Falu-Vives was a Fort Carson soldier and Iraq War veteran when he gunned down 18-year-old Amairany Cervantes and 20-year-old Cesar Ramirez-Ibanez with an AK-47.

Under Colorado law, first degree murder carries mandatory sentences--either the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
