The National Parks Service will hold an informational meeting next week to explain the application process for funding preservation efforts at Japanese confinement sites using during World War II.

The meeting is scheduled for January 21 at 10 a.m. at the National Park Service office at 12795 Alameda Parkway in Lakewood.

This program, now in its third year, has awarded nearly $3.9 million to eligible non-profit groups, educational institutions, and state, local and tribal governments working to preserve more than 50 sites and their histories across the country.

The meeting will also highlight a grant already awarded to preserve Camp Amache, located in Prowers County in eastern Colorado.
