How many city workers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

That's what Grand Junction city officials hope to find out after they got a $500,000 estimate from Xcel Energy to repair dozens of street lights that have gone out around the city.

The city of Grand Junction already manages traffic lights, so some city staff started wondering what they could save if the city took control of street lights too.

The city hasn't budgeted for the repair costs and officials are starting a pilot program to see how much money they can save.
