Governor to lift statewide fire ban, putting call back to local agencies

Governor John Hickenlooper is planning a 1:15 p.m. (MST) press conference at the Colorado State Capitol to discuss the statewide fire ban. An email from Gov. Hickenlooper's staff says Sunday he will be lifting the ban and allowing counties and local governments to consider fire restrictions for their areas. They'll be allowed to take measures they deem appropriate, according to the email from the Governor's office. News 5 will have more on this development following the press briefing.
