DENVER (AP) - An initiative to limit borrowing by state and local governments in Colorado will appear on the November ballot.

Colorado Secretary of State Bernie Buescher said Friday that supporters of the measure had gathered enough signatures to put it before voters November 2. It will appear on the ballot as Amendment 61.

The proposal would prohibit borrowing by state government and require voters to approve future borrowing by local governments.
