One look at Craigslist and you can find just about anything you could ever need on the internet. It has bikes, cars and even video games. But Colorado's next Lieutenant Governor? You betcha!
"It seems non-traditional to say the least." says a Colorado Springs resident we spoke to downtown. It may be non-traditional, but that's exactly what Colorado Independent Gubernatorial candidate Jason Clark is doing.
Clark says it's a sign of his independent leanings. He says it's also a way to be more of an inclusive candidate to the public. "Anybody that wants to get involved in the process that's not in the process now, we want to invite them into the campaign." he explains.
People we spoke to say it's not too surprising that someone finally took this route. "I think it's very reflective of our times." said one man. "It's certainly not the common way to go but if you need to find somebody that's certainly one way to do it!" laughed Monument resident Renee Antonio. But not everyone is on board with the idea. "I don't think that a candidate should be advertising on Craigslist." explains Colorado Springs resident Kate Brown, "It just seems kind of cheesy."
Even so, Clark a former Army Officer, is willing to give anything a try. "We're looking for the best and the brightest. Where that person comes from I don't know. They could come from Craigslist." explains Clark "If you're out there and you think you might be interested in this area, give me a call!"
