GOP chief says birth certificate issue is a distraction

WASHINGTON (AP) - The chairman of the Republication National Committee says the issue of President Barack Obama's birth certificate is a distraction.
But in a statement, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus also accuses Obama of playing campaign politics by addressing that issue.
Priebus says Obama "ought to spend his time getting serious about repairing our economy." Instead, he says, Obama is being distracted by what Priebus
calls "his campaign politics and talk about birth certificates."
The GOP chief says the economy is the nation's "number one priority."
