No gnomes are going to new homes, at least for now.
The city of Gillette, Wyoming had planned to offer more than 100 lawn gnomes for sale at its annual auction Thursday. The gnomes come from the police department evidence locker - confiscated from two teenage girls accused of kidnapping the little guys from people's yards.
But police in Arvada contacted Gillette, to report a mass disappearance of gnomes. The suspected gnome-snatchers may have spent time in Colorado.
Police plan to send gnome photos there to seek out more gnome owners.
