At a conference at CSU-Pueblo Friday, University of Denver Professor Lisa Pasko says popularity wars and power struggles have been going on for decades, but now technology is making it worse. "It's the text messages, it's the phone calls, it's the Facebook updates, it's the twittering--they are always exposed to it non-stop, so it's that much more detrimental.
Pasko urges parents to engage their daughters in activities that boost self esteem and confidence, like sports reading and creative writing.
