A Russian school has banned five of its students from wearing traditional Islamic headscarfs.
School officials say the girls must remove their hijabs or go home, citing the Russian Constitution states that education is strictly secular. Because of that, state authorities have the right to impose a dress code.
Though this region is mostly comprised of Russian Orthodox Christians, it borders several Russian republics with Muslim communities.
