DENVER (AP) - A Denver woman is returning to court on charges she struck her boyfriend, Aron Ralston, whose self-amputation ordeal inspired the movie "127 Hours."
Vita Shannon is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Friday on charges including assault and disturbing the peace. She's accused of striking Ralston during an argument on Sunday.
She's also charged with wrongs to minors because the couple's 8-week-old daughter was present during the altercation. The baby wasn't hurt.
Shannon pleaded not guilty and is free on bond.Ralston was also arrested, but prosecutors dropped the case, citing insufficient evidence.
Ralston's right hand was pinned under a dislodged boulder in a Utah canyon in 2003. After five days with little food and water, he amputated the arm with a knife to escape.
