Jason Giambi is mulling the Rockies' offer to be their hitting instructor after losing out in his bid to become manager.
Giambi said previously that he would only retire to manage, but he's considering all options at this point. He was a finalist for the manager's job, losing out to Walt Weiss, a former Rockies' player. Giambi impressed the Rockies with his interview for the field boss position, but there was concern about him going from the players' teammate to their boss.
There has been some interest from other teams, a factor Giambi is weighing as he decides whether to begin what could be a long coaching career.
