More and more Colorado Ski resorts are opening every day. The YMCA wants to make sure that your first trip down the mountain isn't your last one.
Every Monday night until December 7th at the Garden Ranch branch you are invited to participate in a Ski Fit class. The class focuses specifically on lower body strength and conditioning. It also highlights core muscles that are used in skiing and moguls.
It is a great way to highlight muscles that may have been accidentally ignored during the rest of the year. "Even though you may work out all year to stay in shape for your biking and your hiking and the other things that we like to do here in Colorado," says class instructor Jan Crawford, "you'll find that when you are skiing you do use different muscles and you use them more intensely."
