The average retail price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has risen 4.6 cents in the past week to top the $3 mark for the first time since October of 2008.
According to the gas price tracking website ColoradoGasPrices.com, today's average of $3.01 a gallon is a full $0.51 higher than it was one year ago.
Colorado's gas prices are still lower than the national average which is also up 4.1 cents per gallon this week to $3.16 per gallon.
