This week saw a small dip in gas prices according to AAA, but the prices around Colorado
Springs and Pueblo are still hovering around $3.70 for unleaded and $4.00 for diesel. The prices are no doubt cutting into the budgets of consumers, but how far?

The Department of Energy is putting out tips to cut down on your cost at the pump. Have extra weight in your car, like your golf clubs? The DOE says 100 extra pounds in your car could cost you a drop in two percent of your miles per gallon rate. They also say aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) lower your gas mileage by up to 33 percent at highway speeds and five percent around town. Friday night on News First 5 at 10 p.m. we're talking to drivers about how they're handling the prices, as well as looking for tips to save.
