Funeral planned for girl found dead in Monument

Next week family and friends will say goodbye to Genesis Sims. Sims was the little girl found dead in the crawlspace of a Monument home back in May.
The little girl's mother Jopetia Garretson has made funeral arrangements. Garretson says she will bury Genesis on Sept. 10 in their home state of New Jersey.
Garretson had not seen Genesis since 2008, when Genesis' father Hanif Sims gained custody of the little girl and brought her to Colorado.
Sims and his girlfriend Monique Lynch are in jail charged in connection with her death. They're both due back in court in this case next month.
