If your kids are already bored with summer, imagine what they'll be like in a few weeks.
The El Pueblo History Museum in Pueblo has two summer camps coming up--registration is open right now.
The Summer Art Camp is a two-week workshop July 26 - August 6, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Children 8 - 14 years old will intertwine art and frontier history to create still life artworks using the museum's artifacts. Artist Starr Miller will lead the workshop. Children will explore art techniques, shading, composition, drawing, pastels, watercolors, creativity and problem solving. Tuition cost is $50 for the workshop, which includes supplies.
The Frontier Toys Workshop is August 10 - August 13, 10:00 a.m. - noon. Children 8 years - 12 years old will learn how to make frontier toys such as Jacob ladders, cup and ball, clay balls with their leather bags, bull roarers, tops and games. Cost is $20 for the workshop or $6 each day, supplies are included.
