Fort Carson families have some good news, more soldiers coming home. Twenty soldiers with the 10th Combat Support Hospital, 1st Medical Brigade, are expected to come home on Wednesday.
The welcome home ceremony will take place at the Special Events Center on post at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The 2nd FST was deployed to Afghanistan in June 2013. They closed down an existing surgical facility and moved to a special operations camp. Soldiers set up a five-man surgical concept called the "Golden Hour Offset Surgical-Transport Team", a mobile team that is able to maneuver to areas, where there are no surgical capabilities and outside the "Golden Hour" medical evacuation coverage area. The 2nd FST treated 105 casualties and directed more than 100 successful inbound and outbound medical evacuations.
News 5 will stay on top of any changes in the homecoming ceremony and keep you up to date.
