A deep chill is setting in over a large part of the nation, and it's expected to stick around all week.
Florida is warning residents, visitors and growers that temperatures will be near or below freezing in the Sunshine State. Forecasters say temperatures could dip into the low 20s in the north.
A high of 32 is expected in Atlanta today, some 20 degrees below average. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports southbound lanes of I-575 were closed this morning after water used to put out a vehicle fire turned to ice.
Frigid temperatures and a snowstorm are in the forecast for people in Tennessee and Kentucky this week, with temperatures struggling to break 30.
That's nothing compared to Grand Forks N.D., which hit a new record low for the day yesterday. The Grand Forks Herald reports the mercury plummeted 35 degrees below zero.
