Friday Weather: Windy & Mild

A cold front will move through today. It will be a relatively uneventful frontal passage, but the wind will shift noticeably from late afternoon through the evening just after the cold front passes. That downslope wind will be gusting to 30-40 mph. Ahead of the cold front, highs will be in the upper 50's and lower 60's. Behind the cold front, temperatures drop into the 20's tonight and the wind becomes more upslope, and the clouds will grow thicker overnight. Some fog will form along the Palmer Divide in and around Colorado Springs, and some patchy freezing drizzle will also become possible.

A storm affecting California today will move our way tomorrow. It will mean a good round of snow in the High Country. For us, some spotty cold light rain showers Saturday afternoon change over to snow Saturday night and will continue into Sunday morning. Expect about 1-3" of accumulation, though the first half inch or so may melt rather than sticking to the ground.
