Our Friday morning started cold, but we were not as cold as Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, temperatures at 4 AM Friday were warmer than anything we have seen since Monday night.
We are still cold enough that layers are necessary, though we will be able to take layers off gradually through the day. Highs today will be in the mid-to-upper 30's to low 40's along and west of Interstate 25. In the Southeastern Plains, the chill lingers and highs will be only in the 20's.
If you are heading to Downtown Colorado Springs for the Olympics Celebration tonight, expect calm conditions with temperatures in the upper 20's to start and cooling through the 20's throughout the evening. Take the jacket along if you will be enjoying the celebration.
Temperatures jump into the 40's for the weekend for Southeastern Colorado, while the mountains will be colder with snow.
