It should be a beautiful morning across southern Colorado. Mainly sunny skies, with a few clouds mixed in, and quick rising temperatures. By afternoon, a few clouds will begin to develop over the mountains and spread east over El Paso and Las Animas counties turning skies partly cloudy to partly sunny. Highs will be in the 80's and 90's.
High resoltion computer model data suggests a few showers and thunderstorms may develop over the mountains and spill over the foothills. This would most likely occur in Teller and El Paso counties. I bracket the hours between 5pm and 8pm for this possibility. (see image above) After 8pm, showers should quickly come to an end and skies should be left partly cloudy. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
