If you plan on camping in Fremont County this weekend, be careful where and how you start a campfire. Sheriff James Beicker and the county commissioners have implemented stage one fire restrictions countywide.

The restrictions mean that campfires may only be started in developed recreation sites and must be kept inside metal fire rings at parks and campgrounds. Rock ring burn pits should not be used.

Outdoor grilling is limited to charcoal and propane gas grills. Underground pit barbeques are not allowed.

Agricultural fires and the burning of trash and debris is prohibited. Likewise, fireworks or explosives and model rockets should not be used.
