Fremont County deputies searching for suspects after burglary

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to lock their doors and be alert for suspicious behavior as they search for two people involved in a burglary Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Office says the search started with a homeowner interrupted a burglary just outside of the Canon City limits. The male suspect got into a vehicle driven by a woman and escaped. Shortly after, deputies got into a chase with that vehicle, but it was abandoned and both suspects ran away. More than dozen officers are searching for the man and woman now. A Reverse 911 has gone out in the area, urging residents stay inside, lock their doors and report suspicious behavior.

The two suspects are armed. The man is described as white, about 45 years old about 6'0" tall with a heavy build. The woman is white, about 35 years old with long blonde hair.
