Quail Lake in Colorado Springs will turn into a kids fishing hole Saturday, as the Colorado Division of Wildlife hosts a kids fishing clinic from 8 a.m. to noon.

Free fishing rods and reels will be distributed to the first 500 children accompanied by an adult.

"Division staff will be on hand to teach fishing basics, casting techniques, knot tying, fish identification, and fishing ethics," said Steve Lucero, an education specialist with the DOW.

"We want people to take advantage of this opportunity and get out there with their friends and family and give fishing a try," said Lucero. "Quail Lake is a great place for families to catch fish. We will provide the poles, the bait, and instruction. All you have to do is reel them in," he said.

Quail Lake is located just west of the World Arena off E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. Parking will be available at the ATMEL lot across the street from the lake.
