Free food for unemployed in Colorado Springs

Care and Share will distribute free groceries to unemployed residents Thursday at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center, 2306 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs. The food distribution from the local food bank's Mobile Food Pantry will take place 9 - 11 a.m.

Care and Share has already helped 3300 unemployed job seekers at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center and has spent about 69% of the grant funds it received to help those affected by the recession.

"Partnering with the Workforce Center to distribute additional food made available by federal stimulus dollars has worked wonderfully. So far we have been able to quickly target resources to approximately 3300 people directly impacted by the recession and the loss of jobs," says Charles Rice, Director of Foundation and Government Funding at Care and Share.

To receive free groceries from this giveaway you must be registered with PPWFC.
