People who live in Pueblo can get rid of waste at no charge later this month. The City of Pueblo and Waste Connections is sponsoring a free dump day at the southside landfill. The event will be held on Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (weather permitting)
The city says there won't be any charge for people with trash in their cars and pick-ups; people with tow trailers will receive a 40% discounted rate. Valid identification is required.
Here's a list of items that WILL NOT be accepted: tires, TVs, computers, electronics, appliances with freon or hazardous waste such as paint, liquids, poisons, cleaners, oil or toxics.
The landfill is located just off Beulah Highway 78.
