A free country concert is making a surprise stop at Fort Carson this week.
It is part of a nationwide tour called the "Country Throwdown" . Stops were planned in Denver and Salt Lake City, and organizers decided that it would be a good idea to stop by Fort Carson for a show.
"When we realized we were passing through the area on our way to Salt Lake City, we thought, what a great chance to give Colorado a little taste of what they will be seeing at the Country Throwdown on Sunday," says tour producer Kevin Lyman.
Bluebird Café artists Cory Branan, Dave Pahanish, Ashley Ray, Brad Tursi, Heather Morgan, and Troy Olsen will perform and possibly more artists on the tour, such as Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Little Big Town and Jack Ingram will perform Friday evening at Fort Carson's Iron Horse Park.
The show by the USO, the show is free and open to the public and will give fans a preview of what to expect as the "Country Throwdown Tour" rolls into Denver Sunday, June 13.
