The Fountain Valley YMCA received a $15,000 grant designed to help teens prepare for higher education.
The Fountain Valley YMCA will provide monthly college readiness workshops for teens and their families.These workshops will cover financial aid and scholarship information, college specific information, explore student interests, specific classes that students should take in high school and SAT information. The workshops will also help students create a timelines of what classes students should be focusing on in their current grade year. This grant will involve 200 students and/or parents in the workshops over the next year.
The grant from Sam's Club is part of a $1 million gift to YMCA of the USA.
