A two-time national champ is this week's "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week." And for only the second time in the history of the award our winner is an equestrian athlete. Congratulations to senior Emily Maloof from the Fountain Valley School.
Emily scored 11 of her team's 18 points to help Fountain Valley win the Equestrian National Championship in Atlanta recently. She also took first place in the top division, the Varsity Open Over Fences jumping class. Emily was also on the team when Fountain Valley won the national title back in 2007.
Emily is also a standout in the classroom. She carries a 4.3 grade point average on a scale of 4.0, takes five advanced placement courses, is a peer tutor and president of the Hispanic Honor Society.
Congratulations to Emily and please remember to nominate your favorite athlete. The high school sports season is winding down so you need to do it soon. Go to NewsFirst5.com and click "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week."
