Fountain Police up patrol for July 4th

If you shoot fireworks and get caught, you will pay.

Police in Fountain say they will be fully staffed on the Fourth of July to up their patrol of the streets due to the fire ban.

With the fires going on around Colorado, they say they can't take any chances.

Fireworks are just too dangerous right now.

"There's always going to be the ones that want to do their own thing and not want to follow the rules, but we believe that just with what's happened and the tragedy that Colorado has experienced, we think people for the most part are going to obey the law," said Corporal Dorell Green of the Fountain Police Department.

If you're caught with fireworks or sell or shoot them, you may face a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment, or both.
