The military says a soldier from Fort Carson has died from wounds he suffered in combat in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said Tuesday Sgt. David A. Davis died Saturday at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. The 28-year-old Davis was from Dalhart, Texas.

He was assigned to the 32nd Transportation Company, 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.

He is at least the 13th Fort Carson soldier killed in combat in Afghanistan. Another 264 Fort Carson soldiers have been killed in combat in Iraq.
