A Fort Carson soldier was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of posing as a police officer and fondling a woman during what is being determined to be a bogus traffic stop in Castle Rock.
William Lawler was taken into custody at the El Paso County jail on suspicion of impersonating an officer, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact and false imprisonment. He was also cited with displaying signals on a non-emergency vehicle, a traffic violation. Lawler was able to post bond and was released from jail shortly after.
The alleged incident happened back in November.
According to a Fort Carson spokesperson, Spc. William Lawler, 21, is assigned to the 759th Military Police Battalion.
