The Mountain Post remembers the 9 men who sacrificed their all over the weekend while serving our country in the war in Afghanistan. "As we mourn the loss of these great Americans, we remember their dedicated service and heroic actions as they fought along their comrades to preserve our freedom." says Lt. Colonel Steve Wollman, "Their heroic actions and selfless service undoubtedly saved the lives of many of their comrades."
As the community morns we also learn that through the sorrow, morale and resolve are growing stronger in the 4th Brigade Combat Team. "The unit fought bravely and in the end they won the day." says Major Daniel Chandler, Commander for the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Rear Detachment, "All of the brave soldiers that we lost and all of their comrades that were left there, we know there were a lot of heroes that day and they're really rallying around themselves. Morale in the 4th brigade combat team is high and it's getting stronger."
Finally, a message from a front line chaplain... A warrior's heart and spirit keeps our soldiers focused on the tasks at hand. "We are taking a moment to pause and hug each other as we cry over the loss of our brothers." says Chaplain Weathers, "However we will be ready for the next mission at hand."
