Former teacher arrested for sexual assault

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit has arrested Frank Lavoie on charges that he sexually assaulted a former female student.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation that started in February. The incident allegedly happened in 2009.

At the time Frank Lavoie worked as a teacher at Mountain Vista High School. The student was 17.

Lavoie is 32. He was taken into custody on a charge of Sexual Assault on a Child by a person in a position of trust. He's being held on $50,000 bond.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about additional victims, or any inappropriate conduct by Frank Lavoie, to call the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Detective Dave Weaver 303-660-7537.
