The flight attendant suddenly famous after his unceremonious exit from a JetBlue flight says he wants to return to flying.

Steven Slater held a short news conference outside his home in New York today.

His attorney says they have talked with the district attorney's office and he believes there will be a favorable outcome for his client in the end.

Slater has been charged with with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, but says this experience has been a good one.

"Thank you all so much. It's been amazing, the support and the love. Everything that's been brought to me and given to me by the community and my friends and the industry at large. It's been absolutely wonderful," said Steven Slater, former JetBlue Flight Attendant.
