Former Ft. Carson soldier's death reclassified

A former Fort Carson soldier who was injured in Iraq and died stateside more than a year later, is now classified as a combat death.
Sgt. Ryan Hopkins, 21, of Livermore, California, was deployed from Ft. Carson to Baghdad. He was injured in a motor pool accident on Oct. 4, 2008. He died Jan. 8, 2010 at Fort Sam Houston Texas. At the time, his death was classified as "Not Hostile."
